Gaymer Family History Research

Welcome…

This site is dedicated to the history of the name GAYMER and its variants Gaymour, Gaymore, Gaimer

Gaymer is predominately from Norfolk and Essex with a few stray ones in Suffolk. They appeared in London and Middlesex at the beginning of the 1800's possibly from the Beaumont area of Essex. Some very early ones have been found during the 1400/1500's in Sussex. In 1859 a branch suddenly appeared in Dudley. However these are descended from a Goymer – the name changed to Gaymer with a marriage of a William to Sarah Lem.
Movement around the World from the 1850's onwards shows there are now Gaymers in America, Canada, Australia and South America.

20 years of research and several visits to the Family History Library in Salt Lake City has resulted in the following databases, which I am willing to search if you have a connection to any of these names.
